    Boredom....

Alright, so we all know I can't leave well enough alone. So I figured while I was at it, I'd help some guys out on another forum. And now I'm passing on the info over here as well.

Since I have access to a dyno at work, I figured I'd toss the bike up on there and have some fun. Figured after every mod, I'd make a couple runs on the dyno and take the average one and compare it to previous runs. That way I could see what each mod did.

    So here we go - 2006 GSX-R 600

It's 100% completely stock. All I did was remove the cables and the servo motor for Suzuki's Exhaust Tuning(SET valve if you see it talked about on other forums) butterfly that's right in the midpipe after the header necks down to one pipe. It's supposed to build mid-range torque when in reality, it's just a noise reduction/emmissions thing. And the graph shows that. Not bad for a free mod.

    Blue Line - 100% stock
Green Line - JUST S.E.T. Removed

Next week - I'm gonna toss the BMC Race Filter on and make the runs to compare it to the S.E.T. removed run. Thanks go out to Jamie at FuelMoto. Thank god he's semi local!

I also did receive my Factory Pro Ignition Advancer this week, so that will be the dyno that follows that.

Will be interesting to see what $50 in mods can do for you.

    Hahaha.

Had the GSXR750, had a Busa. Busa was alot of fun. Gixxer had the Wiseco big bore kit, blah blah blah.

This one's fun just cause it is smaller and more fun to throw through the corners.

Just giving ya shit. Having an 11 it's fun to talk shit like that. My favorite one is "600's are cool, I used to date a girl that had one." While my REX is capable in the twisties, I'd like to get some seat time on something more suited to them. Being so used to the midrange, and torque of my 1100, I'm afraid I'll be bored with a 600. I think the GSXR750 bridges that gap, everything review of the middleweight 'zuk has been good. I see one in my garage someday.

    No it's cool

We usually say that to the guy's bringing sportsters in to the harley dealership. "Dropping off the wife's bike I see" HAHAHA

The 750 would be great inbetween. The 750 swap into this bike is an easy one from reading up on the forums. I just didn't want to have a 750 or 1000 and be passed by a bunch of guys on 600's. So now I'll still be passed by a bunch of guys on some 500 and 600cc bikes, but I'll have a good excuse, haha.

My old 750 was 130rwhp w/ the big bore kit. But it was a '97 so it was like 500lbs or whatever. This thing is 370lbs dry I think I read. So it definitely still gets up, but it definitely lacks the torque. I LOVED riding my dad's 1125R. That thing has everything once you spend a couple hours on the suspension, haha.

I have a Daytona 675... I got it mostly because it was something different that didn't suck too much. I like the 848 as well, but I can't afford one.

i kinda miss having my 600 cuz i used to be able to pin the throttle to get up to speed now with the busa if i pin the throttle i can speed on the freeway in first gear. but is more comfortable and thats what i really wanted and i can still push it somewhat hard into the twisties

Its kind of wierd with the 600's, they have leveled off power wise. The 99 R6 i had almost makes that much to the tire.

I never personally dyno'd mine but i remember bikes of that era making around 100 whp. A filter and slip-on aren't going to give you much really. Maybe 5-8hp. If you throw a power comander on there with a full exhaust you will see nice gains though.

Won't be doing the power commander

Will be doing the Bazzaz stuff and the auto tune for it

I was more inquiring about what was done to yours to say it was close. That was all. I know what stuff will get me, but for now, 5-8 hp or even 10-12hp from a full system if it ends up that much, does me no good through the corners. Neither does this stuff really, but it's only $50 or so in parts, haha.

Rear shock and fork setup is same money as full system, so my money will go there.

Thats an 03 but the earlier bikes were about the same. I think the 03-04 636 kawi made about 108-110 stock, may have the highest hp for a 600 still.
