Best liter bike for around 5000?

    Hey,

So i've had 2 600's and 1 750 over the past 6-7 years with my latest bike being a 99 R6. I am selling my evo and want to get back into another bike. I have been looking at the 04-05 zx-10r as it makes crazy power and can be had from 5000-6000.

Has anyone had any experience with these bikes? I'm not sure i really even need a liter bike but who does right, lol.

I may do a track day and some drag racing for fun but it will mostly be a street bike. What do you guys think?

my main advice for you if you are lookin at a 04-05 10r is hold on tight. they are pure monsters from the minute you twist your wrist, its the most freakish powerband to date for a sportbike. i have a 06 10r myself and love the crap out of it. you dont see them everyday and are a very solid stable platform to work with.....

A liter bike is almost always necessary 87% of the time. I'm partial to ZRX's, but you gotta be a lil bit odd to ride a Rex. If I was gonna go full on sportbike I'd look into a Suzuki TL1000S, Honda 996 Super Hawk. I personally don't like, but have heard good things about the Suzuki SV1000.

My fav big cc bike to date was my tlr, but a zx10 is going to be an assload faster. You want fast AND comfy, you need a tlr, you want balls to the walls get a zx10 or gsxr

just get a busa, hahaha. little bit heavier than the others for all around cornering, but it was the most comfortable bike i've ever ridden(and I'm even comparing it to an '07 Softail Standard)

    R C fiddy one!

(or maybe an SV1000, but I like my Hondas)

The noise from an v-twin sportbike is music to my ears. Inline 4 cyls just all sounds so plain in comparison. Although more power can be had with a newer inline 4, I'd still rather ride an RC51.

Sorry, no v-twin for me. I'm addicted to the scream of the inline 4. To me the only sound that tops it is a F1 car and a 2.5L merc race motor.

A busa is way to heavy and not responsive enough for my likings. The only downside about the 10R is it's kind of hard to find.

Thats kind of why i like them, you don't see them everywhere. Every one and their brother has a gixer or R6. I think the black looks pretty damn mean as well.

They do, but in the right hands a new 600 will roll with it. I picked up a 99 zx-6r track bike, time to do some track days!

Ewwww, not trying to offend anyone who may have one, but Buell needs to build a proper sports bike or throw in the towel
