My girlfriends step sister got married this weekend. I was not the official photographer, but they did ask if I could take some candids and other misc shots. Enjoy...

Not sure if you saw my response on my site - but i'll post it here too

I like these shots. The lighting is just right and they have a subject focus.



I'm just gonna be honest here - The others are okay in my opinion, but many either lack a focus or what they should be focussed on, and some are a bit overexposed (your girl and the other) or at least on my monitor.

The first photo could have probably been so much better had you moved yourself a bit more to the left so the white box was the main focus of the photo, got down a bit more to just above the box level and kept that your focus. Right now it is the focus, but the weight of the photo is so dramatic on the center to right side that I lose it and I go right for the vase and bouquet.

Remember - balance. If there's too much going on, you have to counter that or even it out.

Were a lot of your shots with a direct flash? Some of the photos have very harsh light. Doesn't look diffused or bounced. I can tell in the 3rd photo down with the shadow of the hangar on the wall in the direction your light is going. Kind of distracting. The one with your girlfriend, tone down the brightness or exposure in lightroom a bit and you will have another great shot.

I am overall left feeling like I wanted more. I wanted more faces in the moment.
