speaking of you, another customer stopped in at the station was paying for his gas....looked up at the wall and said "hey thats my old car!!" So after a little chit chat, he told me he sold you that car about 4-5 years ago with an s-trim on it! I thought that was pretty cool. He was very nice too

I bought my car as a rolling chassis with nothing more than subframe connectors in it. I bought a trans and oil pan from the same guy too, and thats it. The first motor I put in it was a 393w that was in a '76 Bronco that I had. The year after I went to the Dart 427 with an S-trim on it, and yes that build culminated in Brad's garage with taking an air saw to the hood, lol.

It may have been the right guy you talked to, but he had nothing to do with any of the motors I put in the car. The motor he had in it was an 11:1 351w with ported E7s that supposedly went 12.60s. I don't know if it was ever confirmed, but he couldn't keep rod bearings in the motor. He had a black '96 cobra that he was working on at the time so he wanted to get rid of the '86. (Actually the car is a '79 chassis)

    Was his name Chad?

Yeah, that would be Paul. Nice guy, and a great mechanic! It has been more like 6 or 7 years.
