    excess oil consumption...

OK, So Liz's 240sx starting EATING oil.

the car is a littleover due for an oil change (put on 3000miles in about a month)

We checked the oil on saturday and it was VERY low. like maybe 1 qt in it? So we ran out and picked up some oil drove around maybe 40 miles? and checked it sunday and it was another 1/2 qt to 1 qt low. the car doesn't leak oil, there is no noticable smoke. Today i drove behind her and i could smell burning oil when she got on it (0-40) and jumping on it at about 30mph.

the car has 148K? on it. just wondering what the best bet to do? i've heard there is some oil additives you can add that aids in oil consumption? or is that all BS? or do we just keep dumping oil into it?

Those 2400 motors are great little motors but they do burn oil.
Sure your not just now noticing it? Keep it full and drive it, those
miracle jugs of gew wont seal valve stem seals or heal wore rings.

Her driving is city stop and go as well, if it was operated at a steady
temp all day like freeway driving I bet it wouldnt burn as much.

A few years ago a family friend who owns a repair shop begged and pleeded with my dad to put some red shit in my motor to keep it from blowing, it didn't help.

we haven't just noticed any time we checked it, it was usually full or missing maybe 1/2 qt. i geuss just keep it filled and check it.

car act's just like it always has just it's a little more hungrey then it used to be lol.

KA's do burn oil. Leak oil too. Is it leaking? The front main seals go. Check there first if you haven't already.
