Her long journey is slowly begging to see some light.

Sorry if this doesn't belong here.

The engine bay project is 85% complete, so I figured I would put some updated pics.

Things that have gone into this project:

    Z1 Stage 3 ECU
    Boost Controller
    Complete new wiring harness
    Polished plenum
    Polished power steering reservoir
    Polished coil pack brackets
    Painted balance tube
    Painted valve covers
    Painted engine bay
    EGR delete
    New o-rings for all injectors
    2 new injectors
    New-er throttle bodies.
    Autometer 2 gauge A-pillar

Things pending but on their way:
2 glowshift gauges (boost and oil press combo)
    2 falken 452's 275/35/18's

A big thanks to Alejandra(girlfriend) and Niky(zcrew) for support and help when I needed it most, also 3zc and tt.net for their writeups that make it easier for noobs to work on it.

    Now on to the pics!

Should look better when im completely finished!

Seriously the Z32 engine bays are the most REDICULOUS engine bays you will ever lay eyes or hands on. Satan himself could not have designed a worse engine bay for not being able to reach things, f*cking your knuckles up, or all around retarded engineering.

6G72TT Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4's are also whores for over half of the engine due to being nearly against the firewall.

I can fully agree that the 300ZX is a major difficulty to work on, as I have worked on a couple in the past and can certainly attest to their whore nature.

lol I can vouch for the knuckle busting...my hands are torn up!, but once you remove the egr (which took me 4 hours to get 4 screws off!) it was pretty simple. Tight? yes but im positive with the EGR deleted now I can do a plenum pull in under 6 hours and thats after my first time. Niky from zcrew could probably do it in 3.

Also, when the z32 was designed it was literally made around the engine. I can't remember the exact facts but they put countless hours in designing the power plant to the point that by the end they basically just designed the rest of the car around it.

Yeah that is so frustrating to not have room to work. Putting headers on my camaro was such a pita. had to jack the car up 3 feet in the front so i could get the right angle to slip the header in. Some people have to unbolt the motor mount and jack the engine up on the pass side, haha. When pulling the motor you unbolt the k member and lift the body off of the engine.
