    But back when parts kits were cheap you could build them for like $200 with compliance parts.
    I have flats bent but ran out of kit money for now

    Yeah...when kits were 50$ and having a pile this is worth it. For some AK kits, they are 4-500. At that point I would send it to a "professional" builder and be done with it for less $$$ now.
