    02 gti cel light malfunction

So i put a short ram cold air on the gti like a week ago.
    no problems

yesterday like 8:30 the check engine light goes on.

So i go home, switch the stock airbox back on, unplug the battery terminals and the next morning its off

What caused it to go on? the MAF was connected the entire tire and there was a breather on the end of the recycle line

vw's don't take too kindly to ricer mods. Buy the good stuff, neuspeed, abt, ect. or leave it stock.

lol. I called it. Told you so.

Your maf sensor is dirty. Put your stock air box back on. Take apart your maf and clean it with maf cleaner. You are going to need some special screw driver bits to remove the maf, so get those ahead of time. The ecu heavly uses the maf sensor, so you should really check it out with a vag-com. 180g/s at WOT is correct.

I wouldn't even get an intake. It does absolutly nothing on the 1.8t. There is a great ebay knock off down pipe for your engine that adds 12hp for $100. Otherwise, save up and get a chip (40hp for $500). Hope this helps.
