For the price I don't mind the signing. Pretty cheap compared to Gagne.

Let's just hope he can still get it done. But the #'s show he was solid after the break last year and he was playing on a shitty team.

It don't matter... to be the all time leader at anything you have to be talented and he's more of a finesse guy that power so I'm optimistic!

Solid price...the F.A. market is weak so some players can be had for a relative bargain. Less risky than Gagne was for less money, helps solidify the bullpen. I hope they either keep Sheets for a 1-2 year deal or get another veteran starter for a reasonable price.

I think he'll be ok. He's just like Jamie Moyer (46).
Can't blow 'em away with the fastball, so he paints the corners... something we never have had.

Well, we haven't had a closer who features the changeup since Doug Jones or maybe Dan Kolb .

This is gonna go either way IMO. He'll do very good....or he'll perform below average.

whats that got to do with ANYTHING? he's a changeup artist. his fastball only has to be about 80mph to work. he's been throwing it the same way for 15 years now, its the same as Mariano Rivera and his cutter. everyone KNOWS its coming, but it's still rarely hit.

see above on the age. he played for the Padres. he saved about half their wins. there were two times he got tagged for 3 runs in 1/3 or 2/3s of an inning. blows up the ERA real fast when you don't throw a lot of innings. Whip is a more important stat anyway. 30/34 in saves, so in those 4 games, he got hit hard twice.

doubt it....the only team he was even interested in coming to was the cubs. and with the cubs getting rid of both derosa and marquis, i wouldn't be suprised it he does become a cub
