    BCM Gun review: Remington R15

Gusty and windy I set out with some cheap ammo to
break in barrel and get a feel for it, 25* my eyes tearing
up but no different than real hunting conditions:

As you can see the lower circled group is original sight in,
bottom most 2 without adjustment, cold barrel. Only 50
yards but the last three with no adjustments to scope were
done at different power settings to prove out scope, no
change in POI with all three touching a ragged hole, the
last three we're from a pretty solid limb and good footing.

Highest circled group was after a good cleaning of barrel,
put crosshairs on top most center of the 8" target at just
over 100yards, any deviation was my adrenaline pumped
and tearing eyeballs with gun on tree limb that was pretty
solid but not the best conditions to rate the group, happy
    I hit the woods.

Walked thru at least 2 miles of woods, 18" barrel never
touch's the snow with arm hanging low grasping pistol
grip. Was worried the 6 position stock being soo light
may make the balance of the gun odd, not an issue the
gun is so light overall its a joy to cradle or hold in a tactical
positon thru thick woods. I could hear Gray squirrels now
and again barking but about gave up until I saw a tail
twitching behind a big Oak, setup leaning on a solid tree
and soon as he came around I sent him off the limb 60
yards out or so like a helicopter! First time out and Im
pretty confident the gun is a shooter and posotive it will
be a dream on long walks.

Im gonna give the Remington R15 two thumbs up, looking
forward to trying decent ammo at longer ranges. The cheap
Dawn&Dusk Bushnell is realy crisp, no fog or cloudiness
after being in the hot truck unlike my glass's that needed
to be wiped off a couple times during sight in, nice glass
and POI stayed true thru power zoom, nice scope for $$$.

It was on sale at Gander, like $125 or something.

I just got it to hold me over until I could buy one of my
favorites, hell it may stay on their now. REALY clear like
my last Nikon, dont have to dial the paralex all over thru
the range and when you do need to turn it its not hard to
rotate like Pentax or others. (front paralex not side adj).

Another sub $200 scope I like are the Mueller line, scopes
are too easily broken for me to spend big money.

I like any high power scopes with side paralex...just out
of my wifes price range! Im gonna beat this Bushnell till
it pukes, maybe I'll paint it this week to match the gun

Ive got Nikon optics on most of my rifles. There tactical optics are about the best bang for the buck out there, you can get a KILLER L/R tactical scope for about $900 from them. Im also a fan of Leupold and Swarovski optics.

Nice job. Looks like the R15 will be a very accurate gun. Are you planning on shooting all factory ammo, or do you handload?

I used to shoot handloads with my brother in law, we
never noticed any notable difference in groups between
the two (just cost savings). Little less windy Sunday Im
going to Delevan to try a few brands and see what the
    gun likes.

Will keep it at 100yrds or less to try and judge the brands
but will probably fly a few out to 300+ just to see if I can
scare some crows Another member is bringing his new
pistol, I should be deaf by the evening.
