50BMG, if your building a toy you'll rarely use may as
well go big.

My dream would be a 6.5 Creedmore for an all around
caliber you could compete with in three gun comps or
take out west hunting, good long range sniper setup
to make extra cash....to buy more guns...

Well I already have a .50BMG Barrett 99. I leanin towards .458 Socom. And as far as purpose.... just a toy.....

Remember, buy guns that fire military surplus ammo.... Its cheaper... 5.56 and 7.62mm. .

Must have's

M4/M16/AR15 in 5.56mm
7.62mm Sniper rifle (of your choice)
9mm and .45 handguns

Looks like the .50BMG upper is single shot... (obviously since the BMG can't feed through a stock lower). So, I would probably go for the .50 Beowulf or the .458 SOCOM. But, if you just want a cheap way to sling .50BMG downrange... the $1200 you spend on the AR upper is a lot cheaper than many of the purpose-built .50BMG rifles.

If you actually read above you will see that I have Barrett model 99 .50bmg already. And although i am still considering it, the .50bmg conversion for the AR is not even in the same realm as a dedicated barrett .50 cal. I got mine for $2500 and that was a STEAL!!!!

Like I said, I think im gonna go with .458. There isnt enough ammunition options for the .50 beowulf.

I think the 50 beowulf looks fun, but I'd go with the 458.

My first choice would be in 6.5x51 ( ). I've been looking at the .416 for a bolt gun also.

Have you made a decision? I'm looking hard at a .416 Bohica upper, I'm sold on the balistics but not on the price/availability to load for it. Also, I'm not sold on the "in house Bohica" barrels. They are the same barrel blanks EDM uses. Any thoughts?





(and I still think a .260 Rem semi auto would be cool)
