85 GN does not shift at WOT

A friend has an 85 Gn; the motor was just rebuilt. In order for the car to shift at WOT you need to let off the gas a bit. How do you fix this?

Is there a kickdown cable on a 200? Just for my knowledge also...If it does mite not be adjusted correctly.
If a hammer, crescent wrench, duct tape, or JB Weld can't fix it........Its gotta be a electrical problem
