    Ford 4.6 overheat issues?

Im looking at a 1998 Lincoln MK VIII, customer is anal
and swears it was overheating on him, shut it down and
has not driven it since. He had a loss of coolant earlier
that weak and Im assuming he is air bound. I've drove
the car and loved it (ya I know I hate fords).

So I can score this G-ride for a deal, has new rubber,
struts ect. I hate the mod motors and spark plugs but
I'm not seeing any issues online with headgaskets or
cracked heads what are the chances its bad news?

Air trapped from coolant loss (hose)?

Im doomed and should continue hating fords?

Buy it cuz hey its a F-ing Lincoln and Im old now?

PS: car is 70 miles away, havent gone to examine yet.

See if you can rent from A Zone a coolant pressure tester and see if it holds cap pressure for a while. Put down a deposit and get your money back when your done. Its Prolly a sticking thermostat though.
If a hammer, crescent wrench, duct tape, or JB Weld can't fix it........Its gotta be a electrical problem

I've get everything needed to test and have swapped head on the modular motors but its out of town right now.

I was just curious what peoples experiences have been with the 4.6 when they experienced overheat issues.
I've seen the triton spark plug issues, seen them piss oil out the headgasket but havent seen coolant leaks at the heads yet while wrenching.

50/50 chance I would guess, with bad coolant change intervals is possible to spit a HG on anything it seems these days.

I am pretty sure the rad is lower than the engine in that car making a pita to bleed out for some folks. I usually fill the engine block with coolant through the on engine bleeder on those type of autos.

97/8 are the only Mark 8's worth owning, what color is it ?

Those are the 4.6 4V motors, very nice, is it a LSC model? Pictures? If you want I post a thread over on TCCoA.com.

A lot of people like that pearl white, kinda surprised.

Ever since I had my 94 Impalla SS all black I've liked
dark color cruisers, add some wheels of your choice:

Man that Terminator 8 is the shit, I think I rather have that than my Cobra.
    Pearl Lincolns are the best.
