    1/8" wall, 1.25" tubing, 52.25" long x 3.

Grind the welds off the cap on the back of the frame, slide/pound these tubes in and reweld the cap back on the frame. My X came with skid plates, but with the frame mod, machines without skids cant dent up the frame. Dents in the frame are bad because once the dents are there it makes a great place for the frame to kink if you catch a wheel on a tree or whatever. Any one thats put some seat time on one of these things knows its not hard to get out of control.

Yeah I will probably do the frame mod, an HMF slip on, Direction 2 overfenders, some new rims, and thats about it. I'm not interested in snorkels for mine.

I'm not sure I understand which warranty its going to void? If you properly do the mod, they will have no idea its in there... and if you have a bad wreck, the frame will fold without the mod, and warranty isnt going to help you there. Its a win-win IMO, but that could just be me.

Did you happen to weigh the steel before you put it in the frame? I'm curious how much it weighs, Ive seen guys talking about using aluminum instead, but to me that doesnt seem like it would be much help.

That sounds incredibly light for 3 pieces of steel welded together 4 1/2 feet long. I would maybe believe that weight if it were aluminum.
