I just picked up a 94 1500 4.3L 5spd 4wd, and it's just beggin for my 383. I'm just wondering what would be a good fuel system to go with. so far I've come up with TPI, LT1 setup with rear mounted distributor or TBI. let me know what you guys think

LSx motor.
but I already have the 383. I'm gonna put an lsx into the s10 when to motor in it blows up
Ahh, why don't you do an air gap intake/carb combo... If you tune a carb with a wide band it can be as efficent as fuel injection!
a carb could also be worked out. definitely less wiring. I'm also aiming at relisablity in the winter, thats probably why I was thinking fuel injection.
carbs are reliable in winter... thats what a choke is for! if its going to be a play truck/offroad... id just keep it simple and go carb! just dont skimp on the carb and itll prolly work out nicely for you

I think a 750 Edelbrock with a manual choke would be good for your application!
A HSR would be better than a TPI IMO
I still rather do a FI setup over a carb but that is just me!
There is a way to put TPI / LT1 / HSR on an old SBC and run the newer OBDII computer system thats used on the LS1 engines. Runs way better than the old OBDI stuff and there are alot more people around that can tune it.

I have nothing but good things to say about their out of the box performance. It's a good daily, street carb that is easy to work with. I didn't say they were the end all to be all however the were FAR better than any Holley I ever had for daily driving and decent performance. Plus they are pretty inexspensive...
from what I know about the holleys is that they are better for racing, cause you always need to keep up with adjusting. a more street driven would be better with an edelbrock
sell to me, i have a BBO that needs a home
but you vould do a good carb setup with a holley blue and quick lock, cheap setup but very good flowing. TPI makes awesome torque, just ogtta be handy with the wire harness..... form tehre it just gets complicated.
come on, dont be to mean on the newbie, I wouldnt even reccomend that crap to my worst enemy unless he needed a paperweight

Two 100lb/hr injectors only support around 325hp so keep that in mind if you go the TBI route.
I'd either go TBI or spreadbore carbureted.
Buy made in the United States. Otherwise your job might be next. Unless you already wear black shoes and a visor with golden arches on it to work in which case your fellow american has already failed you.
base model holleys are not the best either, but no cars that make decent power run an edelbrock of any kind.

decent power = CID *1.5 = HP or more. with no power adders. You walk through the pits of an actual competition even and tell me how many edelbrock carbs you see... not many at all.
