    5.3L plugs/wires

in my 2006 silverado with the 5.3, what would you guys recommend for a mileage interval for changing my plugs? what would be the best plugs to put in there? Can I just run the old school reliable copper auto-lites, or do I need these new iridium plugs? Each plug wire is maybe 5" long.... when would I need to change those out as well? I currently have 55k miles.

They will "work" for 100+ k miles.

I was just testing a 30k mile 5.3 for a misfire, the gap had already opened
up noticably too the eye even though it ran great. If I drove one I would
do them before 50k miles for piece of mind, platinums back in.

Oh and my misfire was a coilpack, swapped it from #3 to #8 and the
missfire code followed it. Those newer GM wires look like the ungly Ford
Triton wires with there little springy deals inside.

Sure, I like 30k on plugs and 100k on wires, as a change interval.

Your truck came with platinums stock, like $3 each these days.
Dont waste your money on those Iridium plus' just single platinum.

Set of wires is like $30, kinda high considering there only
    about 4 inchs long.

NGK TR5 or TR55(whichever you can find locally) is all i run in NA stuff, i got a set in the monte with 15k on them so far. Plug wires will be fine unless they are cracked.

Dont run NGK tr55s in there. Did it once and the truck ran like crap and yes I had everything done right. As soon as i took them out and tossed in platinums it ran fine again. It would stumble on idle and ran like crap. Put the stock million dollor gm ones back in it. Just my experince.

And yes I run them in my camaro but for some reason the 5.3 didnt like um

I just took some stock plugs out of a 03 6.0 and they were marked NGK and AC.
Also said made in USA with Japanese parts.
