Testing..waters..10.00 class????

Im testing the waters.. for a possible 10.00 cap class... it will be a stocksusp. class.... based on a tight rules for street cars that can compete...

expample.... full interiors ..no back seats ok..NO ALUM..dashes door panals..so forthall lights must must function.(ie) head lights turn signals and so forth...must have working charging system, stock suspention after market replacement ok...
NO MINI TUBS!!!!....exterior BODY... limited to fiberglass hoods and bumpers... door glass must function up/down

all cars must have mufflers and with exhuast to min rear axle to dump...
** car must be registered and lic***

No tows to lanes or from shut down area..

max tire for 15'' rim is 275 drg radial or 28.10.5
16- DOT tire( drag raidals) or et street

18 "" ""

motor combos.... sb- super charged( a trim or s trim) or factory super charger
sb- Nirtous limited to plate 2 soilnoids 1 fuel 1 nos
EFI- nitrous limited to single nozzle
BIG BLOCK- any CI over 496ci and above must run NA single carb
Big block - any motor up to 495ci can run 1 plate system only
limited to 1 fuel/ 1 nos with single carb

conventional heads only on all combos....

all nos combos limited to a single bottle with a #4 main line

ENTRY WOULD BE 50.00 WINNER-400.00-600.00 AND IT WOULD PAY THROUGH 4TH PLACE BUTT COULD GO ALL THE WAY DOWN TO QAULIFIING

THESE ARE ROUGH PAY OUTS TO START.... BUTT IM SURE IM CLOSE

***theses are some rough rules... but just some ideas that people had givn imput... if anyone is interested please post...and some ideas that you would have....

I like the fact you are so involved with GLD lately Scotty, try and keep that place around!
I think that is a cool class, although I don't have anything that goes that fast right now though...
(P.S. a small block with an S trim is going to be huffing HARD to go 10.0)

t60 is way to small, id say cap it at a t76, t60 will run out of steam at 4500 rpm unless we all drive hondas

So your telling me that the intercooler should be considered a power adder? I think turbo cars should be allowed either a intercooler OR Meth injection.

got to up the turbo size to a 76mm. TOO many people running around with those T76 street kits or TC76 on all kinds of vehicles. Mustangs, Camaro's, Supra's, Imports, etc... You'd be killing a WHOLE bunch of possible entries with something that small.

I think that this class would be incredibly big and incredibly fun. ALOT cheaper than anything else going on right now since it won't require the big safety $$$ that faster than 9.99 represents.

But you have to look at what a majority will be running. 351w fords with a simple overbore or an iron block LS1 would be over that 360 limit with the turbo's, and you'll kill alot of people.

I still think limiting a TON of stuff and cid and and kits will really kill ALOT of people who would want to participate. It's still capped, and I don't think anyone will be bringing an 8.90 car to run 10.0's all day long. Although possible just like "True Street" does.

By limiting certain things, like EFI w/ one nozzle... no one is going to want to take a stock intake setup vehicle like a fox body 5.0 or an LT1 or LS1 and run a cam only car and spray a 250 shot through it to try and be competitive enough to have alot of fun. It's gonna hurt things, in a time when you are building a class for the majority of just "normal" folks who don't have room for a $15,000 engine

if you did this, i'd build a car for the class guaranteed

also have to look into aftermarket efi systems. allowed or not allowed? good number of people with DFI on a crate engine from scoggin dickey or whatever that would want to do it too.

if you REALLY want to have fun with it, keep it a 26x10 e.t. street or a 275/60 Drag Radial as the max tire sizes for a 15" wheel. I know it's two different heights, but I bet you'd see a SHIT TON of drag radial cars then. 50lb weight break for nitto's or BFG's, haha
