Well, at the very least, I have an interesting back story.

They are sposed to work very well. I went a litttle bigger in my truck. It moves on the go but needs a converter out of the whole its a dog.

Well this cam seems to have reversed roles vs the stocker, low end is softer and high end charge is better. Im sure it would be pretty pultry in a truck down low.

Mike you need a 6.0L swap and decent cam and then it will rip pretty good.

A converter that would actually make a difference is gonna hinder towing ability....

Mike you strike me as the type of guy who likes low end muscle and want something quick stop ligh to stop light... That 5.3 will never give that w/o a maggie or the like. Its easier and cheaper to swap in a junkyard LQ9.

will the lq9 still bolt up to my 4L60 or is that LQ9 gonna hurt my 4L60 and force me to step up to the 4L80?

    I forgot all about that.

So a LQ9 with a cam should wake that truck up nicely.... Tax return time I may seriously consider this. I have no warranty anymore so I might as well. Save the 5.3 in the garage incase the 6.0 blows up. What is all involved with the swap? Engine, wiring harness, computer?

Still no push rods yet... ******* thunder racing....

Mike, all you need is a long block, all your 5.3 stuff swaps over, even the computer will work.

if I can get one complete that would be cool, then I can save my 5.3 as complete as possible in case something were to happen. but again, Im guessing a 8.1L would be a waste?

Waste of gas.... They make parts for them and can be fast, but big bucks.

Big deal if you need to swap over accesories or intakes...

The 4l60 will hold if its built right. Seth still has a 4l60 behind his engine and its making over 600rwhp. Granted its built, but its still a 4l60.
