    pre 96 check engine light ?

    i have a 92 Chevy s10 blazer and i keep getting a check engine light in the morning and when it rains.

    someone told me you can check it with a paper clip. i this true? and if it is how? and where can i go to decode it.

    Just go to Advanced Auto and have them give you the code, then post it on here and I'll look it up for you.

    they wont scan it because its a 92

    YEP you can. Jump the two top right terminals on the ALDA plug. Turn the key on to run. Don't start. The SES will flash codes. The first code should be 12. the light will flash once and pause a second and flash twice. it will do that three times. Code 12 is normal and indicates the ECM is functioning. Then any codes in memory will begin to flash if any are stored. code 36 would be flash three times pause and flash 6 times. It will always flash the code 3 times back to back before starting a new code .

    i got codes 12 and 33. anyone know where to decode this?

    Code 12 is nornal ignore it.
    Code 33 MAP Sensor curcuit error ( Signal high / low vaccum
