    Need a Fishing Pole, recommendations?

I'm not gonna be using it that often, but want one that'll last. I'm going to Gander Mountain today to pick one up, but need some expertise. It's gonna be a starter pole, used maybe a few times duing the season. Suggestions??

    Thanks!!

Yeah you'll be happy with an Ugly Stick Ultra Light. I have a 6' Berkley Ultra Light that I absolutely love. Great for inland fishing. On that I just have a Shimano 100 reel. Works just fine for what I need. Casts and reels smooth.

I was just going to post up a thread on this very subject as I'd like to buy something decent that will last me a while. I know how to fish and what lures to use but I don't know the technical side of fishing rods/reels. The fishing I will be doing will almost be 100% inland lakes aiming for all kinds of fresh water fishies......

With that said what are the differences that I should know about when looking to buying a rod...???

I am one that likes to be informed when buying something just because I like to know what it is I'm buying, and also because I would hate to buy two of the same setups if decide to get another. I honestly don't even know if there is that big of a difference in fishing setups so please fill me in on anything I should know......

Now that I think of it my father has a couple of the ugly sticks with Shakespeare (sp?) reels, is that a good all around setup...??? I used it to catch this little minnow last time I was fishing with him and I liked it, seemed to work well but once again I'm not expert.....
