maybe bleed teh brakes, it might have air pockets that need to be pushed out.

I do not know why rear disks do this but they do after about 35-45k miles miles, major pitting, rust holes, sometimes grooves on the rotors. The pads will still have meat on them but they just aren't bitting into the rotors.
I fix it by buying all new rotors and pads and putting that on there, if the parking brake is built into the caliper you will want to use your caliper piston return tool to turn the piston back in, some rear disks have a little drum brake built into the rear disk.
Honestly I really like rear drum brakes better due to them usually lasting like 100-150k miles, sadly with an open wheel drum brakes look horrible.
