it is a cheap ass engine,to go with the entire project of used cheap parts in a cheap car. we even had to ridge ream and ball hone the block.it might be a 428 or 429 by now..

i think he has a total of nearly 1500 in the engine,with the new carb.

You really know what you're talking about don't you! I've seen bone stock Neons break axles. It's not always about how much power you're making. I myself have not broken one, and I was running about the same amount of power that 1siksrt is.

i thought about that with all the "sport compacts" you spend $15,000 on a car and put $10,000 into mods = $25,000! why do that when you can buy a car already done that runs 10's for around $10,000!

I bought my Neon with the intention of having a fun little dd. Then I started to get the bug to go faster, so here I am with a $25k Neon. Oh well. I like it. My next (and I use this word lightly) "race car" will not be a new vehicle. I'll stay with the same motor, but go to something RWD. And cheaper...

on a car that hooks then you would be very correct. but its very tough to get a fwd to hook peroid.

Not a lot of people do it, but it's definetly doable. I've gone 1.6s in my Neon, and I have a lot of traction mods I could still do. I think mid 1.5s are about as good as it gets in a Neon that I know of.
So, yes...RWD>FWD out of the hole.
