Gas mileage and the 3.1 chevy V6

Those of you that have or have had a car with a 3.1 , what kind of MPG did you get? I am only getting 22-23 in my 94 GP. My old 96 Olds Eighty Eight with the 3800 used to get 25-26MPG on the same driving I do now, mix of city and highway going back and forth to work.

    Am I getting average mileage?

Who'd have thought a midsize car would get worse mileage than a fullsize one?

In my experiences with those cars the 3.8 is MPG king, your numbers seem right for that mix.

thats about right for it. When i had my 97 cutlass i got 19-20in winter mixed with hwy/city all the time. And 27 going up north in november, that was winter blend gas. You probly will get 1-2 MPG better when the summer blend comes but thats about it if your lucky. My 97 buick with the 3.8 gets 25 mixed right now. Cant complain beats 15-16 the truck gets.

mid to upper 20's in a three speed lumina sedan.

The wonderful thing about the 60* V6's is that they have the power of a 4-cylinder and the fuel economy of a v8.
Well, at the very least, I have an interesting back story.

    That's a lot better than what I get in my G6. Expressway I get 28, 55-65 I get 31, and around town/short trips is around 18.

If I drive it like my truck I get 16mpg, same as my truck.
Buy made in the United States. Otherwise your job might be next. Unless you already wear black shoes and a visor with golden arches on it to work in which case your fellow american has already failed you.

I had a '94 Cavalier wagon with the 3.1 and three speed auto. I beat it on most of the time (never had an "easy tank") and got 18mpg consistently.

I want to be able to spend my retirement years driving my Buick at wide open throttle, at 45 mph, 'cause I shifted into L instead of D. But it's my own damn business and not the government's.
