    new rear

Well this weekend Im getting ready to swap the rear end in the LS. Getting a 3.42 rear from a 40k mile 84' MCSS for $125 in Beaver Dam on Saturday and swapping it the same day, if goes as planned. Got the correct speedo gear, tranny fluid/gaskets(doubling them up) and new rear gasket, fluid. Not expecting a huge difference in performance(has 3.08's) but hopefully a little more without the expense of much mileage .

    Update

Got the rear and swapped it in. Nice difference in gears but not overwelming, just what I was looking for.

Rear had newer seals and backing plates/brakes which was a nice bonus, and very minimal rust...might sand it down and paint it anyways.
