PARTING OUT: 1996 Mercury Sable 24v DOHC===> Many Good Parts Left...!!!

I'm parting out a 1996 Mercury Sable 24v w/ 114k miles. I am using the engine but the rest is up for grabs including a very solid transmission. Let me know if you are interested in something, and I'm also willing to ship within reason....

Actually NO, but I wish I was...!!! The `96-99 Duratec has a differeng set-up that will not work in a Contour, the years of `00-06 are the ones you need.....

I've been looking for a `00-06 for some time but can't find anything REAL nice for under $900, was hoping to spend a little less. However, I will eventually have to bite the bullet and get one because I need to get it going again.....

It all good, the thread just keeps on getting bumped up anyways.....

The motor in the Contour is already a 3.0L Duratec swap, that went bad. The factory bearings can't hold up to serious constant RPM's and fail, which I believe is what happened to it. I bought it that way and actually need to find out exactly what went wrong, but it leaked a ton of oil so I'm guessing it put a hole in the block.....

I was told it went 13's in the 1/4 mile pretty easy with the current set-up, and also impressed MANY people at Road America. I guess we'll see when I get it going again but it should be fun.....

Is there really enough of a following to make money on one of these? Or do a lot of people on here have them as daily drivers? I guess its the same as that generation Taurus. It just seems funny to see a Sable part-out thread.

Sorry. I was just wondering? I part out a lot of Probes and the only reason it makes sense is because of Probetalk.com. Is there a sablefans.org? That's all I was getting at.

Well I'm not looking to make money on it from the parts only. I bought it for what I need and if I can sell anything else off of it great, if not then it all goes to the crusher.....

Cool, thanks for the information. I was aware that the older body style had a large following but I did not know there was a large following for this gen.
