    WTB sbc heads

these are the heads tht i have

and im told that they are "high compression" heads for the LG4 and the HO 305(8.5 to 9:1). they have 58cc chambers, a 1.84 intake and a 1.50 exhaust valves. those heads r prone to cracking in the combustion chamber

i rebuilding the the 1984 2 bolt 355, its gettin the rebuild kit, isky .485" lift 260 duration and a couple of other little add ons.

im kinda on a budget and im lookin for somethin solid and that will work with wht im doin till i get better heads, sooo let me know price and all the other good details

    thanx andy

bang for the buck,go get yourself a pair of vortec heads from GM. they flow decent for a street engine and they are inexpensive.they do require a special intake(edelbrock makes a few) due to a different intake bolt pattern.

Yeah but then he needs a vortec intake manifold too.

look for a set of L98 heads. You can get them in aluminum or iron. A set of the aluminum ones goes for 200-400 and the iron ones Ive seen go as low as $50 for the pair.

Search on Thirdgen.org, theres tons of info on there about cheep heads and what works.

L98 aren't vortec, but they are one of the better flowing stock heads.

Sorry I thought you were talking about the vortec heads. Most of the vortec I have been seeing go for around $300.

The Vette heads were #113 and the f-body heads were #083. I'm pretty sure the #083 had slightly bigger chambers.
