Never been a fan of the Viper. I'm actually glad it's gone.

I want to be able to spend my retirement years driving my Buick at wide open throttle, at 45 mph, 'cause I shifted into L instead of D. But it's my own damn business and not the government's.

I see Ceberus is already dismantling the company.
Well, at the very least, I have an interesting back story.

Thank all the fookin libs who ***** about so-called "global warming", whine about our dependance on mideast oil (yet won't let us drill in ANWAR or off the coasts).

Someday this whole climate change bs is going to go away and all we'll be left with is the negative economic impact of a poorly conceived theory and all the warming nuts will just go... "whoops, we were just trying to help."

By the way, you can say bye bye to the ZR-1 too... if you think that's going to make it past 2011 with any amount of horsepower... you're delusional. I mean, I know they 80s are coming back style-wise... I was just hoping that the no-horsepower autos of the 80s would stay buried.

If you come, they will build it.

I remember a little story about a car that was slated to be canceled and be replaced by a car that is now canceled.... but the fans didn't let it happen.

Granted the Viper isn't the American Icon that the above car is, but it's a damn fine car that doesn't deserve to die.

Maybe some fans need to start writing letters.

After 25 years, theres finally a faster Vette - for a brief period of time. Congrats, GM lover. Call me when you actually have a ZR1, I'll race you for it. For now, go back to wishing your Grand Am "GT" was a ZR1 and get the hell out of the Mopar forum, theres real men conducting business in here.

I agree. I am unaware of another car that has run 7 second 1/4 mile times in truely a street car in FULL WEIGHT, full interior stock trim - factory suspension front and rear, all factory castings - block, heads, crank, factory drivetrain - T56 6 Speed, Dana 44, independant rear.

They aren't killing the Viper cause of Global Warming. they are killing it cause it's not profitable and they get very little out of the car for other cars. It offers Cerebus/Chrysler very little besides a flagship car. It shares very little with anything else they make. It's not like the ZR1 which shares a ton of parts with the low level Corvettes which sell pretty well, not too mention the same radio you get in nearly every GM vehicle, and a bunch of other stuff. It's hard to make a good business case to keep a car that sells a couple thousand units at best.

Cerebus didn't buy Chrysler to lose money on it every year.
