    Chinese Mosins, anyone get one lately?

    Since my Gew88 project isn't taking off
    I see Omega still has some fair condition Chinese Type 53 Mosins for cheap. From what I've read they are DIRTY. But I figured WTF I may get one. I already have contracted Mosinitis and I want to buy some more 7.62x54r anyway

    My buddy just picked up a M38 carbine chambered in the ever popular 6.5x52 Carcano. That's going to be interesting to shoot.

    Wow....more power to him. I would like a PU mosin but since I want to restore an ex-sniper, as most of the "sniper" mosins on the market are clones. It will be much ore of a beotch, but oh well. Jamie, I am not a rich guy because I DO want these things. I re-shellac..ed my 91/30 and it look awesome. The amber shelllac ended up being a reddish-bonde, and looks great.

    Y eah I have to re shellac my regular stocked 91/30, my lam is still alright. I have the old stuff stripped off , bu then put it back together and took it out shooting and never got around to refinishing it
    Just kidding about the rich guy stuff
    I stopped at Dunhams in West Allis today while my daughter was at gymnastics and they don't have any ex-snipers, checked them all They did have 2 hexes though. But I can't pay over $100 when I can order a run of the mill mosin for $70 or less

    The word on the street is that AIM has been shipping out a few ex-snipers. I've heard of a few people getting lucky in the past few months.
