good tires aired up to 50psi or so, a fresh set of pads, and leave your ego at home.

deggy... i'm not quite familiar what's available for suspension pieces for your car, but, big rear sway bar, decent lowering springs, GOOD TIRES!!!!, and if possible get some adjustable shocks in(koni, tokkico, etc...) then just roam around the pits for me... i should be at most of the events this year... whether i'm driving or not is a different story... lol

Deg- look at the rules for SCCA online and read up on them & etc. http://www.scca-milwaukee.org I dont remember specifics but some mods may very well bump you into a class you may not want to be in.

Shimmy nailed it right on the head though & its a fun time!

I dont autoX my car, but'll more more than willing to join you & help ya out.

They do have quite a few items suspension-wise for my car, i just picked up a front strut bar...looking into sway bars...and a rear strut bar. i already got the car lowered with Eibach springs, but def need to upgrade the struts, they are the factory ones.

i guess i'd have to know what the stock sizes are in order to tell ya if you should go for those or not...

if anything, i run the factory front bar, and the "welfare" rear bar in my neon to make it turn... (factory srt acr bar is a 19mm, the stocker i had was a 14mm)

eibach is a good start for lowering, but shocks are deifinitely something to consider if you're gonna get into this...

given an automatic GA ain't exactly the ideal car for any class, if you're out there to have fun, more power to ya!

lmk if i can help ya out picking out parts, i'm usually pretty good at a base tune of parts for a certain suspension...

having done it a few times, and knowing a few guys who do do it, id say that you are on the right path...they will let most anything run on an auto cross event, just as long as you pass a tech inspection (no bald tires, you have seat belts, ect...) however if you want to be competitive do what you are doing to your car, and get there early to walk the course and memorize it....dont be pissed off if you dotn do well your first time, I didnt....just have fun

Anyone know what the autocross at miller parks stand is on windshields with cracks in them as far as tech inspection? I really don't feel like replacing a windshield when i've got many other things to work on with my p.o.s.

    goodbye 4T60E

Looks like I'd be in the SM class. Might as well shoot myself in the foot for stock suspension engine mods, and larger than stock rear tires.

Hell I could fully mod the suspension upgrade EVERYTHING and still be in that class. I looked into doing this before. Maybe I'll autoX the Lumina, lol.

    AX = autocross
here is where i go, and i LOVE it,

    http://autocross.mcscc.org/
midwestern counsil is a great place to start! fun
you do practice laps in the morning,
and 1 lap timed runs in the afternoon! very safe for street cars and beginners!

    a little more advanced,
    http://www.nasamidwest.com/
NASA uses Transponders, and you go out for 20 minute timed sessions!
fastest lap counts, and is used to score you against others!
but you have to advance to this TT level over time.
you start out in HDPE1 and get to TT timed.

    ALSO,
i love running my car at this ROAD AMERICA lapping event,
    http://roadamerica.fbody.us/
this is a blast, cause it is causual NON TIMED lapping
and you can take FREINDS family for rides!!!!!!!
    it is awesome fun!

SM ain't so bad... and keep in mind for stock classes, and street tired classes... wheel sizes are the only thing limited... not tire sizes ... i've seen guys running 245's where 225's should be...
