    Looking at it right now

Very pretty buick...easily my favorite car and motor of the BOP's

question, maybe you can answer for me. Why do the Buick's so dominate b/w the three (BOP's) in the FAST competitions? What is available to it that the poncho's and olds can't seem to get to make themselves more competitive? I went to one competition a year ago and it literally seemed to be 75% mopar, 10% buick, 10% chevy, 5% miscelaneous (not a single fords for that matter though)

F.A.S.T. is easily my favorite type of racing right now....whatching cars that look like they just rolled of the showroom floor doing what they were intended to do

The GS club had a stock appearing class at the nats for years, I think we've had more practice than the Olds or Pontiacs. There are a few W-31 olds that run Factory Stock, there exhaust manifolds are really bad, just don't flow enough even ported. There has been rumors of a fast F.A.S.T 70 W-30 showing up at Bristol this year.....

If I was to build a serious F.A.S.T. car it would be a 71-72 Firebird Formula, 455HO 4-Speed. I think the Round Port Pontiacs have the most potencial of all the cars. Theres been 2 HO Pontiacs in the 11s, and Goodmans Factory Stock 68 RAII Firebird has been close (12.20s) with no porting, 400 cubes and stock 11to1 compression.

Don't know what happened to the fords, there was a few very fast Mustangs and Torinos in NMCA Top Stock back in the Day.

If I built a F.A.S.T comp car, I would probably go with something like this:

Powered by the famous max wedge (I'd use a 440 based 528 ci motor though)

Ugly yes, but that's my style :cool2:

I'm not sure, Joel and Dave, both hemis, are neck and neck, The Big Dog (ZL1) ran some good numbers in Norwalk but he's not exactly legal, port plates and alcohol isn't exactly within the spirt of the rules....

Gessler's GS is always a tenth or two slower but always there in the end.

Watch the Silver GS, went 12.00s with a round cam in Mich, that car is nice and light (3700-3800lbs) for a Buick.
