    * No on track horseplay will be tolerated
    * All cars that will be on the track will have passed a Tech Inspection with approved numbers on vehicle
    * Numbers will be available for you. If you have your own number, please indicate that on the registration paperwork. All numbers must be 7" tall with a 2" stroke, located on each side of the vehicle
    (preferably the door panels)
    * Long pants only--Mandatory for all drivers and passengers
    * Helmets are required by all in the vehicle
    - Must have Snell approved sticker on helmet - Minimum Snell 2000 Rating!

    * Seat belts are required by all in the vehicle (minimum 3pt. (shoulder and lap)

    * All passengers must be 16 or older
    * All guests must be 16 or older to go beyond the fenced wall by pit lane
    * No passengers allowed in the rear seat

    * No unsecured hand held cameras. All cameras must be mounted securely in the vehicle (a suggestion)
    * Disposal containers for oil, gas & other fluids will be on premises, please use them if needed
    * Oil dry is available for anyone, feel free and use if needed
    * Any purposeful discharge of fluids onto Road America's ground (grass, pavement, blacktop & etc) is
strictly prohibited. If there is a spill please notify event staff immediately.
    * No Alcohol/Drugs on Road America Premises

    * No ATV's or any small motorized vehicles for personal transport on Road America grounds (ex. mopeds)
    * Those caught not obeying the rules will be escorted out with NO REFUND

    * Off Track excursions -- If any vehicle has all four wheels off the track for any reason other than mechanical failure during the entire weekend, these rules apply:
    1. First time -- vehicle is checked out and that current session is done, driver is then sent to the paddock

    2. Second time -- vehicle is checked out and the day is done, but can return on the next day/event. If done on Saturday, Sunday will start out with only one time left.

    3. Third time -- vehicle is sent back to the paddock and numbers removed for the rest of the event for that day and will on probation for 13 months.
    * Spin outs -- If a vehicle spins out of control for more than 90*
    1. First time -- The vehicle will be brought to tech and will be inspected and make sure the driver/car is ok to go back onto the track.
    2. Second time -- The vehicle is brought to tech and will be inspected to make sure the driver/car is ok to go back onto the track in the next session. The vehicle will then proceed to the paddock for the rest of the remaining session.
    3. Third time -- The vehicle is brought to tech and will be inspected to make sure the driver/car is ok, then they will be sent to the paddock for the rest of that days event. If done on Saturday, Sunday will start out with only one time left.
    4. Fourth time -- The vehicle is brought to tech and will be inspected to make sure the driver/car is ok, vehicle is then sent back to the paddock and numbers removed for the rest of the event for that day and will on probation for 13 months.
    * Done for the entire day IF:
    1. Black flag more than once per day:
Not obeying flags Passing in no passing area
Giving permission to pass in a no passing zone
Arm outside of car – (not to indicate a pass by)
    2. Remove helmet on the track without permission
    * Car-to-Car Contact -- "Collisions are governed by the 13/13 rule, which states that if you are involved in an incident sufficient to cause damage to your car or any other car, you may be prohibited from participating for the rest of the weekend, prohibited from entering the next event, and placed on probation for 13 months. If you are involved in another such incident during your probation, you will be suspended for 13 months. Keep in mind that when on the track you are responsible for your own behavior, which includes your failure to avoid incidents. If another driver is being reckless, it would be wise to give that person wide berth, and to let us know about it in the hopes that we can prevent an incident from occurring. Incidents at this type of event are very rare, but it is only with your help that we can keep them so."

    * Probation -- The participant begins the event with the First time offense revoked and will continue on to the Second and Third time of off track excursions. If participant fails to obey the rules when on probation, participant will then not be allowed to attend another MFBA Road America Event for 13 months.

    Safety is our main concern

Items that will be looked at during tech inspection:

    * Battery is secure with tape over the positive terminal
    * No leaking fluids; i.e.: oil, coolant, trans axle oils, etc
    * No loose items in car (includes floor mats)
    * Functional approved seatbelts
    * Brake light function
    * No loose suspension/ other components
    * Appropriate tires - good condition for track environment

    * All convertibles must have appropriate roll bar
    * Windshield is not cracked (It is a structured item)

    * All cameras must be mounted securely in the vehicle (a suggestion)
    Rating Yourself

This will determine what session you will most likely be in. Try to place yourself accordingly.

    Group A “Assertive” Class
These drivers are seasoned and drive other tracks and events. Drivers are capable of driving aggressively in a safe manner. Drivers are very comfortable passing and being passed within the set passing zones.

    Group B “Advanced” Class
Drivers have driven Road America and other tracks and events, and may drive more conservatively than the "Assertive" Class. Drivers are comfortable passing and being passed.

    Group C “Intermediate” Class
Drivers have limited track time and drives conservatively. Passing may be limited in the class due to experience and comfort levels.

    Group D “Novice” Class
Driver has little or no track experience and will drive very conservatively in this group. Very little passing expected.

    Notes:
    1. All classes must observe the same passing/ no passing zone markers and proper passing procedures.
    2. Cars with street tires and completely stock brakes are recommended to be placed in the C & D groups.

Questions regarding grouping, please E-mail us at: roadamerica@fbody.us

Midwest F-Body Association Inc. reserves the right to change/modify grouping assignments as needed.

Everyone will know and respect all the event rules that are implied by Road America and the MFBA staff.

Kinda lost by this question? There isn't any kind of regulations on the car or its parts. Just the safety stuff... one example being the battery secured or working taillights.

"Appropriate tires - good condition for track environment"

I understand the good condition part obviously, but it made it sound like there is some type of tire requirement.

No official tire requirement just make sure there are no nails & etc in them and sidewalls arent chewed up- always catch some in tech. Old & harder tires may be more slippery in turns, so newer tires are are plus
Some get tires & rims just for events like these and run 'R' compound tires which are much stickier than normal steeet tires.

Just start out on street tires imo. Starting with r comps will mask bad driving habits and a street tire will usually gradually lose traction where many r comps are all or nothing.

Don't forget to run track pads at least up front and some fresh fluid!

    YES
it is best to start on Plain old Street tires.

    1. they make noise when approaching the traction limit = GOOD for Beginners!

    2. they are hard and do not wear out as fast, much cheaper option!

street tires are OK at this event!
you will be grouped with other beginners and/or with Street tires.

also, great advice on the Brakes!

PUT a Track Compound high performance brake pad in
for anytime you are going onto a race track!
Just the FRONT PADS!!!!!!! the back pads are hardly used.
and FLUSH THE BRAKE FLUID with fresh fluid!!!!!!!!

Brake Pad Fade, on a race track is not good!
