Age? XP home? Serial port? and is the screen the type thats shiny and almost looks like glass or dull like most laptops?

hey tom its about 6 months old with 6 months remaining on the warranty. yes its xp home edition. i'm not sure what ya mean about the screen? and i think it has 2 serial ports??

You know how laptops typically have a opaque screen when they are off? And there are some that have screen that are shiny that look like glass.

Im trying to find a replacement that has the shiny screen.

It probably has 2 USB ports but the serial port would look like the opposite of a monitor port. It would have male pins too, where as the monitor is female.

Does it have a gateway model # on it?
