    Actually working on the 64

I expect that the fact I am actually working on my cars means the world is about to end. I got the headers on now what a PITA both sides had a tube that hit. Driver side was the lower control arm mount and the pass side hot the upper control arm itself. A little cutting and a little dinging and they're in

Need to get some convertor bolts and put on the exhaust I am picking up this weekend and it can come off the jackstands.

Then it's on to the interior....

    Already done

I do need a cam change though. It's got your basic generic 214/224 performer type cam. Going to go with a Voodoo stick next.
Here's right after I dropped it in.
Gotta take off the valvecovers and repaint them. They're the Oldsmobile embossed ones. I just threw them on there so the blue is kinda out of place.

Not too crazy of an engine, but it should be a fun cruiser.

Yep , it's a southern colorado car. There is some trunk rust, but I think it's from a window or some other orifice leak everything else is clean.

I now have the exhaust for it
3" Pypes x-pipe setup with Hooker Maximum flows for mufflers
    I traded a friend for my 2.5" g-body x-pipe setup that I had on my 86 for a bit.

Wow been a while since I worked on the car I guess
Well since I don't have homework to do anymore, I've been working on it more.
The exhaust is tacked together, going to pull it off to finish welding it up, when I change the axle from the 8.2 with 3.08 to a 71-2 Olds (no c-clips) 8.5 with 3.42's. I should be at least pulling out the old rear this weekend.
Put on a set of Accel 300 plug wires I got from a friend. Still need to get some new plugs.

I have a Lunati Cam that I bought this spring, but I am going to wait to swap it till later.

In the last week I bolted up the torque converter, got the through bolts for the motor mounts. Found the P/S pump off my Vista that I'll be using until I decide if I'm going to go manual or not.

I ordered some bushings (.69/ea @ McMaster- Carr) for the baseplate of the 800 cfm Qjet I'm going to use for a while. Beats $60+ for a bushing "kit" with drill bit. I have access to a drill press and mill at work so making straight holes shouldn't be a problem .

Got the tailshaft housing off the trans to replace the bushing and seals this weekend too.

I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel, it will run this year and I'll have to figure out an interior, but it should move under it's own power this summer

Well that's all my rambling for now

Will do next time I'll be out there for more than a few minutes at a crack, IIRC you're fairly close to me.

Was seeing how these covers look today, got them from a friend in a trade, and yes the orange and rust alt bracket is already off and will be getting stripped and painted
They are TALL, looks like manual brakes for me if I use them

I went over to my friends to rebush my q-jet baseplate (used his drill press rather than going all the way to Burlington to use the one at work) , which cost me all of like $3, sure beats those $60-80 kits they sell

No, different friend that has a G-body now and I traded him some g-body stuff I had for them. I like the way they look so it looks like manual 4 wheel drums for me. Just have to plan my stops 10 minutes in advance

Yeah it feels good to do stff on it again. Hopefully start welding the exhaust tonight or tomorrow. Then bolt it up and put the new rear in. Then it can come off the jackstands for the first time in a long time
