Got there at 4pm, started running cars at 6:00pm, broke at 6:05pm.

sheared the outer splines off the front right axle and exploded the outer CV. Grease everywhere....Oh yeah; I only went like 2 feet before breaking...

Oh well, wasn't a tranny this time!

Saw Scotty K down there being pit crew, and a few other familiars!

Fantastic weather for racing, and a VERY sticky track!

This is the first time that I snapped the front right axle by itself.

I broke a set of fronts before at WIR, but it usually shattered the outer CV cups, not shearing the splines off.

I usually broke the fronts doing dumb stuff like burnouts, or the infamous "left turn launch", where I was attempting to do a on-axis donut burnout on Hakkapelliittas -- unfortunately, traction won, and my axles lost.

The bummer is that these axles have only 1 pass on them (yesterday) since installed, and less than 1000 miles of street driving over the last month.

I am shipping it back to Marty at Raxles today for him to take a look at it; the way it broke, it looks like an imperfection in the material.
