    Wtb: Tpi Ecu

Yep finally got myself a TPI but no harness or ECU, looking for an ECU with the prom so i can chip it. Preferably a MAF set up since that's what it originally was but since it hasn't been installed I could do a speed density conversion. If you have one or know of one or totaled your Fbody let me know I need that ECU, will be going with a painless harness,

so you need an 85-88 setup?

i got one, I'll see what the old man will want for it.
Well, at the very least, I have an interesting back story.

Awesome I appreciate it. One quick question is that ecu for the 5.0 or the 5.7? It doesn't much matter since I'll be chipping it but just out of curiosity.

5.7 wasn't till 87, and it really don't matter, only difference is that the 350 had a slightly different timing curve and larger injectors. i ran my 355 on a 305 tune for a bit.

Eh the year doesnt matter too much to me. The car its goin in is an 88 but was originally a 2.8. Is the harness for an automatic or shouldn't that matter?

it needs to be 85-88 for your car.

remember these have just an engine harness, not a computer controlled tranny.

I wasn't sure about that, this is my first automatic build and first TPI, I knew it needed to be 85-88 but between that I don't care and doubt the car will as it's gaining a few cylinders and some cubic inches. Happen to find out how much the old man wants for it?

89' is also a MAF year, for the PROM make sure its not from a VATS equipped car, so that knocks 89' and I think 88' out. The PROM should also be from an automatic car. And 85' is a different style ECM and harness, just an FYI...its been awhile since I thought about TPI stuff but I retained some knowledge of my swap and trouble shooting with it .

89 is the first year for the VATS but you can bypass the VATS system
