All that work for a little old hotcam? Unless you need to pass emissions or are going stock heads why bother with it.

He likes the sound of it. I think I seen a video of a LT1 with an LT4 hot cam kit with stock internals run low 11's.
'Merica, Hell Yeah!
Agreed..but in a well thought out combo it USUALLY is. Just don't go overboard.

Josh you still have your LT4 hotcam kit?

Look all I am saying is that if you match a nice set of heads with a slightly bigger cam you should be able to make more power with almost if not the same amount of driveability. Brett Bauer or one of the other reputable cam designers could probally offer a better custom cam and if you only want to do the work once I would suggest going bigger. That is just my opinion. I did not know the LT4 hotcam was so popular around here which helps explain the lack of fast lt1's.

How often do you plan on redoing the motor? Like said above, get a nice matched setup, headwork or heads and proper tune & you'll be good to go. I made the mistake once of not having everything matched. Dont worry about spending the money, you will anyways in the end if you want it running right.

Nick- Im only running the CC305 (dont remember if its bigger or smaller the LT4 cam), but my done up AFR heads is where my power is made and all my supporting valvetain parts are giving me the longevity I want & the car can hold its own. Im now on 45K miles with my current modded setup and aside from the stock bottom end doing its thing at 145K Im very happy. My 'driving nice' economy is in the low 20mpg's still.

No I sold the LT4 Hot Cam Kit to another BCM member I don't have the time to install it. And if I want the motor to go I'd juice the hell out of it and watch my hood blow off.
Maybe I'll get a 383 after I get my house, that way I'll have all the time in the world to work on the car.
The LT4 HC is pretty close to the cc306, so I'd say your cam is smaller John. Anyways you have your car setup for road racing.
I tried telling him go with a cc503 or a gm847.
