If you think that your blizzaks are good, then you should research or try a real winter tire: Nokian Hakkapeliitta's (Finnish Company)
The two below are for passenger cars:
Nokian Hakkapeliitta RSi,

Nokian Hakkapeliitta 5 (studded version)

The two below are for SUV's and Trucks:
Hakkapeliitta LT,

Nokian Hakkapeliitta 5 SUV,

These tires are rated for 60,000 miles of use (AND THEY MEAN IT!)
I had these tires on my eclipse for almost 3 years (continuous use) with 100+ track passes, dyno time, burnouts, launches, etc. fun with the tires along with 30K+ miles on them, and they still have HALF TREAD! (Hakkapeliitta Q's)
They are excellent in every adverse condition, and have decent dry summer use -- just don't try to go autocrossing with these tires unless it is on ice. These tires are what people also use for ice racing--so if they trust them, you should consider checking them out.
My 215/55R16's were like $124 a piece from Marty @ Big Bear Tire (Oconomowoc).
I would reccomend these tires to anyone I care for (because if its not their fault, it will probably be someone else's fault)
Also, there is a Swedish company (Gishlaved?) that makes a MEAN ice racing tire.

Trust me, I am well aware of "Hocks" as all my work buddies call them.
Those or gislaveds are what i'd get if I was buying new snow tires. I got the blizzaks used, but they still had the paint on the tires. I just couldn't pass up $200 for 4 new mounted and balanced hehe.
That said, I've always heard about them but never bothered to try until now since I always had a fwd i wasn't as worried about it. Now with the stang GT daily driver they had become a necessity.
Hocks rock!

I got ws50's on the lady's stang, and older ws15's on mine.
I had the WS-50s on my Stang, nothing could stop it... But it sure didn't handle well with 'em on...
I sold mine to Carguy...

LM-22s on the STi. Love them, and they were great on the g35 coupe when the wife had it.
