    Vw Tdi Mods

    so my little brother wants to step up his 05 TDI. anyone here klnow anything about them or wtf could make this turd a little bit peppy?
    im guessing the usual,chip(not sure who makes a decent one),exhaust,intake....

    APR and GIAC are the best chips for that car. I believe you get something like 30 hp and 60 lbs of tq. MPG will be a bit better as well.

    I don't know if it has gone though yet, but Stay Tuned was in the works of becoming a APR programmer. Otherwise Alpine Import Specialists on the North Side do it as well.

    that or go to Dub works in Chicago they are a very good VW place my buddy had a chip intake and exaust put on his GLI Jetta.

    Yep, they do the GIAC tuning which is very aggresive from the start of the power band. Pretty rediculous gains on all of the new(er) Audi engines.

    my old buddie had a GIAC chip,fuel pump,and propane injection and that thing hauled pretty good.It also shot black smoke like the diesel trucks do.The TDIs have excellent torque down low also.

    I've seen a few of those in the low 15's...that kind of decent performance with great gas mileage seems like a win win to me.

    BD Power makes the 20hp/30lb-ft X-power module for that for $450.
    a little pricey as far as im concerened since i payed that 140hp 340lb-ft

    common mods, especially on the older ones, intake setup, chip, remove mufflar.

    a friend of mine just got a 91 4cyl tdi rabbit its some special imported rare car and he got 52mpg on the way home from canada where he bought it. i think thats rediculous

    my step dad payed 22k for his truck and 17k for his TDI.......needless to say he is not getting anything new anytime soon.
