    Bug in Quick Reply box

In FireFox, if you press the ' key (next to enter) in the Quick Reply box, it brings up the "Find" box.
It does it randomly in the advanced reply box too, just now for instance, but as soon as I copy/pasted the ' from notepad, it acted normally.

    Don't know how it's confusing it with CTRL+F / F3

It's not me (I don't think), because it only does it on this board.

I have Firefox 1.5.0.7 on Windows NT 4.0 and the ' key works fine here in the Quick Reply, never had an issue. Strange...

Firefox is a really nice browser.my main problem is that it would not open certain websites..or it wouldnt play Video files.no matter how many things i downloaded.

so untill Mozilla gets all of there shit figured out

    *UPDATE*

This has been fixed in FireFox 2.0 RC!
Check my site (link in sig.) for the download link (after Columbus rant), if you want to try out the 2.0 pre-release.
It's very stable so far, and much faster

    Just Switched Browsers

Well guys all this talk made me realize how shitty Firefox actually is; I can't f*cking stand all the RAM it hogs and then never releases. The longer I run it, the slower my PC gets. I researched the problem heavily and basically Mozilla says this is by design and it's not their problem, even though it's obviously the #1 complaint for 3 years now.

So in a hopeful send-off to Firefox, I downloaded Opera 9 and so far this thing kicks ass. It's blazingly fast loading pages compared to Firefox, and ESPECIALLY when changing tabs!! And BCM seems to work well on it so far, other than a massive slowdown when replying to a post and all the animated smileys are buzzing at the same time...

I tried Opera 9 just for grins for a couple days last week. It didn't correctly load BCM.com half the time. FYI, I use FireFox normally never have a problem with it hogging RAM. I need every last byte for my 3D machine assemblies/FEA...never see a problem/lack of performance.

if you're getting the search box when hitting ' in Firefox, make sure your browser window isn't maximized. Don't maximize it and adjust it to a usable size...then it shouldn't happen. At least that's what's worked for me on multiple machines. YMMV.
