long tube headers on a 3rd gen

has anybody put hooker super comp full length headers on a late 3rd gen firebird, i know thats retorical but anybody that has done it did you have any clearance problems with the headers being able to get past the frame on the passenger side or hitting the floor with them, also if anyone has done an h-pipe on a 3rd gen firebird did you have any problems with that. thanx in advance for the advice

yeah, there were like two examples where the ground clearance wasn't significantly impacted.

Really it will be fine as long as you hang it tight

Totally possible. We put the supercomps on my buddies third gen. Tom from OTE actually built a true dual oval exhaust for it that worked great. They put the spintech mufflers on it and that helped out clearance quite a bit. As far as the fitment of the headers i think i remember having to cut off some of one of the ears off the trans bellhousing and some other minor modifications, but nothing i wouldnt worry about.

I would talk to Tom (Topfueltom) about having him do it..

go to thirdgen.org dont bother looking here and if you only find 2 pics then you need to learn how to use the search button.its all there on that site for everything you can think of.

Most of the guys running true duals are dumping before the rear wheels. Which is just hilljack to me. If you do that by law you need air shocks, a 8' whip antenna with a tattered rebel flag and mag wheels.

Most of the true dual setups that exit at the back have 2 pipes right next to each other in the stock location because it makes it easier to get them up over the axle on that side.

There is a panhard bar relocation kit to make fitting dual tailpipes much easier. I say throw dumps on it and call it a day....

I'd use the mufflex y and run a 4" pipe.

Ever sit at a stop light with dumps? Nothing like getting to where you're going and smelling like exhaust.

I second the mufflex y pipe and single 4" exhaust, I had it on my 91 RS and the fricker sounded awesome. I'd get the spintech muffler over the flowmaster though.
