FS: 1989 VW Jetta GLI Wolfsburg Edition

This is a red 89 Jetta 5 speed with the 16v engine. Engine has about 170k miles on it and ran fine until I replaced the valve cover gasket and changed the oil. Now it idles kinda funny and won't rev very high. I'm guessing one of the sensors got messed up or something with the spark plugs/coil/distributor. Interior is gutted but still has one Recaro seat. Exterior is pretty good - dent in rear drivers side door, rear door handles are broken off, rest of the car is good except for small spots of rust.

Car is located in West Allis, WI with a clean title. I'd like to just dump the whole car for $500 - probably won't take much to get it to run right....I just don't know anything about VWs and I'm tired of trying to figure it out...lol. If you need certain parts let me know - I have most interior pieces and like I said - I can part out the rest of it. Trans is perfect...engine was fine. Thanks
