    84 Monte Carlo $1000

    Still for sale...

    1984 Monte Carlo ***Easy Project***
305, Aluminum Intake, Brand New Edelbrock 4 Barrel carb, headers, side exit exhaust, etc...
    Brand new front brakes.
**NEEDS A FUEL TANK SENDING UNIT**
It's not getting fuel up to the carb, it runs with a little gas poured in the carb, so you can hear it run. Must be towed, can not be driven home.
Interior is good, needs a headliner.
    Solid body.
Comes with an extra pair of rust free doors, a trunk lid and an SS nose, along with a bunch of spare misc parts.
Have all reciepts for new parts. The car is well worth more than the $1000 price in parts alone, and the price is very firm.
Can be seen on south 124th street, between Morgan & Howard anytime.

Not at the moment, it needs a fuel tank sending unit. It's not getting fuel up to the carb, it runs with a little gas poured in the carb, so you can hear it run. Must be towed, can not be driven home.

Why does it need a sending unit? Is it rotted out and pulling in air? Cause if its a carbureted motor, the fuel pump is on the motor, not in the tank....

The fuel pump is brand new, it needs a pick up/sending unit in the tank, to get the gas from the tank, to the fuel pump.

Unless the pickup tube is broken inside the tank where it is pulling in air, the sending unit only controls the fuel gauge. It does not help feed fuel to the fuel pump...

Its my brothers car, all I know is what he has told me, it may be that the pick up tube is broken/rusted I'll be over there tomorrow, and I'll mess with it. Might be a quick fix, who knows.

It's possible that the rubber hose that connects to the tank fuel feed line is cracked. If so, they can allow the pump to suck air and not gas.
