    It's comming along

Not bad for a days work. I got the new cam in along with the oil pump. I'll put all the stuff on the new heads this week and get whatever I can back together without the heads. I'll have to get to Sears to pick up a torque wrench next weekend. Hopefully I'll get it started next weekend sometime. They're Absolute Speed 5.3 heads (11-1 compression, 2.02/1.575 valves, and flow 314 at .600) with Comp 978 springs. F13 cam (112 LSA) Powerbond pulley, ported LS6 oil pump, 160 deg stat, and of course pushrods, gaskets, etc.

Nice sounds like a good combo i hav ethe f13 also with stock 241 heads. I enjoy it. got 12.1 out of the combo tuned. Theres still a few tenths to be had out of it but i like the cam. You should be right about 400-420hp when your done.

Great setup definately keep updating. I'm thinking of a h/c setup myself and still debating. Thinking of a ms3 or ms4.

Nice to see another modded LS1! I know that pic well with the heads off.

The monte has "243" casting which are LS6 heads.... time to swap them out for the Camaro's 241's BWHAHAHAAH

Nice work though, it good to see you werent too botherd by taking on such a huge project.

I hope to get a little more than stock power! I've been working on it a few hours after work and taking my time. I've got the heads back on and the motor spins and makes compression. I'm looking to start it up saturday sometime if not tomorrow.

That pulley was a ***** without a longer crank bolt. Won't do that again........ I'm doing this without the trans in, so I had to pull the starter and put a screwdriver in the flywheel. The screwdriver decided to break in half with the tip stuck in the flywheel. That was pretty sweet.

Ha, all I do at work all day is take F-18's apart and put em back together. The only difference is if I break anything on my car, I have to pay for it. Can't just order a new part and throw it on.
