There is no reason to restrict the volume of oil to any comercialy
produced turbo unless your shortblocks oil pressure is questionable.
Most newer vehicles restrict oil to head simply to keep good solid
oil pressure down low where needed.

On the other side of the coin turbos live happily for many years on
very small feed lines in factory equiped car (provided clean oil is
always there) with no issue at all. Chrysler, ford and many others
simply run a 5/16" metal line (brake line) from an unrestricted port
near pump with no issue at all. Turbos are gravity drain oiling sytems,
anything you throw at them will quickly exit the 5/8" drain.

You car undoubtably uses a low pressure switch for a dummy light
along side a better sender for the gauges, tying the dummy sender
into your turbo feed line will alert you to the first sign of problems.
I also like installing a pre filter for turbo feed line, cheap insurance.

Thats an inline spin on filter with factory low oil pressure sender
in same system, oil pressure to turbo drops and the idiot light
    in dash screams at you.

Yup you'll be fine, the filter is just cheap insurance.

Turbos dont like crud or debri in oil, filter will stop that.
Clean oil, and a decent BOV to keep comp surge and stall
to a minimum, will keep the turbo alive for years and years.

I would not buy an inline filter. just because what if it gets cloged? get oil after the filter. look in the head or somthing. but thats just MY opinion. if i can see the oil on my dip stick i change it. somtimes around every 1000 mils i change my oil. just keep up on your oil changes and things that need fixing and you don't need these extra things.

I have a -6 oil feed and i don't puff oil. and my drain is -8 LOL. mine is also off my oil sending unit from my block. you will be fine.

A $15 spin on oil filter kit or one from an oil reloaction kit you
may have laying around has a built in bypass in it. If the filter
is so plugged oil wont go thru you wont need your turbo

Hey Mike I was talking about your car to a guy named Andrew,
says you went to school together. We were both talking about
Berretas for a minute and a guy localy before we realized it
    was you!

An even cheaper option is what the Subaru guys are doing, they use
an inline trans filter (has bypass built in) on there feed line.

I use those on my autos, has a magnet in them as well.

alright...thanks guys for the input...i think i will throw the turbo on and run it till i get one of the filters you linked to...i always wondered about filtering the feed line but where do i run the filter...would i have to run some rubber line from two fittings and run the filter there or is there a better place to run it...it would be nice if they made em with an fittings to place inline without runnin rubber line...im sure if i look around long enough i could find one but thanks again...ive posted this on a bunch of forums and you guys gave me the most complete answers as well as some 1st hand instead of what other people hear or believe...i appreciate the help and berettaspeed did u still want to run against me...after the car gets back together im goin to gld so maybe we can set something up since i have 1 pt left on my liscence and i NEVER EVER streetrace....

i need a trailer. its more expensive for me to get my car towed from GLD than to buy a new engine for my car. lol get a filter if you can get the bypass built in it.

andrew??? mmm doesnt ring a bell.
