    cams for talon

I'm converting my '92 talon to turbo and I'm wondering who has a decent set of cams for it. I don't need anything to radical.

Give a little more detail.... Which motor will be in the car when you are done?

If the 4G63T is what is going to be in there, then depending on HP levels you are looking for: stock, HKS, or Crowers.

I think Twicks69 has a 262deg HKS cam laying around.

The whole setup is going to be a "little" above stock. I'm probably going to end up around the 250 HP range. I need to keep the car with in reason.

Heck, I have the HKS264 intake cam, and I think that I might have a set of 1G turbo cams from a 91 also.

PM me if you need any other parts, and I will see what I have sitting around. Otherwise, PM Jake @ top street.

250 HP.... Put the money into something else. A good running motor with intake and exhaust and you'll be there. Let me know if you need anything.

Not a big fan personally. They are trying to get better now.... But, I remember seeing broken cam lobes due to a crappy weld, grind, something?

I spend a couple extra bucks and have never once had a problem. That kind of security is nice.

Still.... Anything under 300ish HP and I dont think that cams are a worthwhile investment. Not that cams wont help.. Just that there are other, better places to put the cash.

Tuning for example, if your doing it yourself and buy a data logger or have someone else do it. I am sure almost everyone here has seen some really awesome setups and sh1t results.

I think you have a good goal, I wouldn't stray to far from the basics right now. Just having a good running turbo motor in there is going to wake that thing the hell up anyways.

If you need parts for your build up, you need to be on http://forum.widsm.org if you're not already. Hit up some of the local part whores on there:

Yea its pretty much pointless to go with 264's... i should have thought before i spoke! If anything go with 272's... but seeing that your trying to stay around 250hp then you might as well keep your stock cams!!!

    $375-400 Very Poorly Spent!

I dont know what you have so far but for that kind of money he could finish up so many small items your going to need.

If you can't make 250 HP without cams (DSM) then there is something wrong, which in that case the money would be better spent fixing whatever it is.

Tell me a little more about the setup? Engine, Turbo, ECU. Ect.
