    What tires are you using?

    What kind of tires is everyone (maybe all of 5 on this site) using that takes their car to roadcourse, high speed autox stuff. I'm looking into some stickier rubber for this year. I'm torn between toyo ra-1 and kuhmo mx. I drive the car on a regular basis in the summer, so I need something that will do ok in an occasional rain, which is why I'm leaning more towards the mx. Anyways, thoughts, opinions? TIA-Garrett

    If you want the best traction on all senses then use BFG Eagle F1's, if you are looking for only RR tires then I would say Hoosiers. Both cost the most, but you will appreciate the difference when you go to use them. Believe me I miss the Eagles.

    Are you referring to the goodyear f1 supercar tires that come on z06's? Unfortunately for me, they don't list them in a 255/40/17 (17 x 9's in front). Anybody try the BFG ta-kd's?

    Well I decided on the kuhmo mx, 255 f and 275 r. I have read many favorable reviews on these tires and it seems the only complaint is the sidewalls being a little too soft, which doesn't bother me because I don't autox much, it should help straightline traction and should provide a little extra cushion on these bumpy city streets. Also the price is hard to beat at <$600 shipped for the set. I'll have a review on april 10th

    THE BEST IS HOOSIER R3S04 DOT R COMPOUND
    UTQG = 40!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    HERE IS THE link YOU WANT,...

    http://www.tirerack.com/tires/types/comp.jsp

    BUT A SET OF THESE COMPETITION TIRES!!!!!!!!

    AND YOU WILL SMOKE ANYONE ON THE STREET
    CAUSE YOU WILL HAVE THE TRACTION!!!!!!

    THESE ARE THE BEST FOR THE TRACK TOO.

    The TOYO RA1 is a Full DOT R coumpound tire,
    UTQG = 100

    The Kuhmo MX is a 200 UTQG which is harder,

    BUT much softer than a Street tire Like Goodyear Eagle F1's
    which has a UTQG = 300

    THE LOWER the UTQG number, the BETTER = softer = MORE TRACTION

    you want tires that are R compound DOT
    Like Hoosiers R3SO4 or Toyo RA1, etc...

    Heh I wish it was like that over here. Heck I had to pay 55 bucks just to ship an rc car!!

    Although if I were to slim up my household goods I could probably get 6-8 tires in there

    And yes mike I've seen the 710 over here. There were some skylines at a local carshow with them.
