I have an 86 Trans Am and I want to know if I can use the stock fuel pump or is there is a peice to put in the tank in place of the pump. And I also want to know how to hook up the tach with an MSD distributor and coil.

If you haven't already check out Thirdgen.org they have a whole forum section on swaping to carb.
If I remember right most of them take the stock fuel pump off the carrier and add a piece of tubing so that it can be used as a pickup and the fuel gauge still works, then they put a mechanical fuel pump on the block and run it like a regular carb car does.. I also remember seeing a fuel pressure regulator that would bring the pressure down to where a carb needs it but never really read that far into it.
As far as the tack goes you can either get the signal from the factory tack wire or grab it at the distributor, it should be the only white wire I belive its on the bigger plug of the two if I remember right.
On a side note what are you doing with the TPI setup? depending on condition and price I might be interested in buying it. Shoot me a PM or something.
