The way I read it, is the power filter stabalizes the voltage so there are no spikes, while the resistor's job is to reduce the voltage to an acceptable level.

your biggest issue will be with the flywheel. The 302 is a 50 oz imbalance, the 351 is a 28 oz imbalance. I have done this before, put a 351 in a 91 Bronco.

How thick of a spacer were you using?
sounds like I am cutting and rewelding the rims.
The spacers I cut are a snug fit on the hub and on the lugs. When they are installed, I cant move them.
