its very common on focaljet.com to see posts about duratec people getting the long filters put on at jiffy lubes and smacking them off and leaking all the oil out. search around its common issue.

u said the dip stick was dry? how much did u have to add? i know the oil filters on duratecs hang down right in front off the block and if you use the wrong filter its too long but still screws on...
