Let it die.
i wouldnt pay over 500 for it. as long as everything is there i would bite on it
gonna try and talk him down on it
6.2 is decent for just a dd. just don't beat it. they don't take abuse all too well.
trust brandon on that he killed 2 of our parents...if u get it i got a unimount plow frame and wiring for it u'd just need a blade make a nice plow truck...how many miles are on it? the problem with 6.2 they snap cranks very easily, snap starter bolts off in block as they are i believe 22:1 compression...they aren't bad motors though, and that truck looks clean too
I wouldn't waste my money on that POS. All you'll get is decent fuel mileage...no balls, no torque, junk.
I like 'em. Throw a J-code intake on it, add a wee bit of fuel, and let 'er rip. I'd go buy it for parts if I had somewhere to put it.
Is the frame or rust an issue on those?
Cab corners, rockers, and front cab supports are the first to go. Then the bottom of the core support. Amongst all this, assuming the output of the transmission or transfer case hasn't been slinging ATF, the webbing under the box goes about the same time as the core support.
Front cab supports are a bit of a PITA to replace, but doable. A complete kit to replace from half way up the back of the cab to half way up the bulkhead is around ~$90, including floorpan.
I've had just about every year, except a 1976 (someday I'll get one) in various incarnations of the 73-87(91) GM fullsize. I've still got titles and VIN plates to ~30 I've cut up. I've got a lot of parts to them, even have a complete set of gold trim that was offered only on the 1977s.
These trucks are farkin' cheap to keep on the road. I find the diesels to be a bit irritating, myself.
my dad had a 6.2 in a K5 blazer what got me into diesels always wanted a 6.2 cause of it, hopefully gonna take a look at this one this weekend
